Harvatek Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Cree in the U.S., Continues to Defend IP Rights
As of Jan. 26th, 2016, Harvatek Corp. (“Harvatek”) announced to entrust Devlin Law Firm LLC representing it to accuse Cree, Inc. (“Cree”) of patent infringement in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. The patent-in-suit is US 6,841,934.
Harvatek was accused of infringing Cree's patents on Sep. 15th, 2014. Harvatek fought back immediately. Not only did it accuse Cree and its affiliates of infringing patents on Dec. 5th in the same year, but it also successfully invalidated one related Chinese patent of Cree in July, 2015.
The patent-in-suit is related to LED packaging technology. Harvatek has invested enormous resources to build a considerable number of patents in such technology. Therefore, it is capable of defending the interests of its customers and shareholders. A series of counterattacks showed that Harvatek has strong patent strengths and litigation abilities to compete with international companies.
So far, the litigations of the two parties are still in process. Harvatek is optimistic in litigation proceedings.
