Social Responsibility

The Administrative Department serves as the unit promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It continuously reviews the operation and compliance of the company's CSR practices and is dedicated to strengthening advocacy and implementation. If a major violation or risk of significant damage to the company is discovered through investigation, a report will be immediately prepared and submitted in writing to the Independent Directors, and reported to the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors at the earliest meeting.

This disclosure covers the company's sustainability performance at major operation sites from January 2022 to October 2025. The risk assessment boundary is primarily based on the company, including existing sites in Taiwan, Mainland China, other parts of Asia, the Americas, and Europe.

In accordance with the principle of materiality for CSR, the company conducts risk assessments on significant issues and establishes risk management policies or strategies as follows:

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy:
The company is a professional R&D, design, manufacturing, and testing plant for semiconductor chips and LED packaging. Harvatek Technology has implemented and obtained ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 international standard certifications. Through the P-D-C-A management cycle, we assist in implementing various plans to achieve continuous improvement. By promoting environmental and occupational safety and health management, we establish a safe, healthy, energy-saving, and green working environment.

In addition to upholding the concepts of environmental, safety, and health protection—performing well in pollution control and injury prevention—the company continues to improve in risk management, energy conservation, resource conservation, and waste reduction. We strive to create a better and healthier environment and aim to reduce the environmental and safety impacts caused by processes, facilities, and activities to fulfill our social responsibilities and achieve the goal of sustainable operation.

Human Rights
The company complies with relevant labor laws to fully protect the legal rights and interests of employees. The formulated personnel regulations and human rights ethics manuals meet all requirements and are executed according to the "Work Rules" to ensure employee rights are protected by dedicated personnel.

Employee Welfare Measures
The company periodically adjusts salary levels based on factors such as price levels, market supply and demand, industry standards, and local legal requirements. Various employee profit-sharing and incentive systems are established to provide reasonable compensation and attract/retain talent. We follow domestic laws and regulations to formulate internal norms and promote them through new employee training for employees, supervisors, and board members.

Employee Safety and Health
To prevent industrial accidents and provide a friendly work environment, the company introduced an OHS management system in 2010. We obtained TOSHMS (Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health Management System) international certification in 2011 with an AFAQ certificate. Our OHS work has since moved toward systematic management, transitioning to the ISO 45001:2018 certificate in 2020. We provide health check-up cycles superior to regulations, with annual free health checks for all regular employees. Dedicated plant nurses and contracted occupational specialists provide monthly on-site health services. Our Xiangshan plant received excellence awards for lactation rooms from the Hsinchu City Government in 2017 and 2020. Both Xiangshan and Chuangxin plants have received multiple "Healthy Workplace" certifications from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. In 2021, no disabling injuries occurred at either plant, with a combined injury index of zero. As of May 2022, Xiangshan plant achieved 4.8 million injury-free work hours, and Chuangxin plant achieved 2.7 million.

Employee Training Program
The company believes that only through unremitting learning and training can employee functions be enhanced to achieve company goals and meet the expectations of customers, employees, and shareholders. We aim to build a learning organization to improve human quality and product competitiveness.
Training and development policies are as follows:

  3. Provide comprehensive training to meet human resource needs and instill quality concepts.

1. Responsibility to Customers:
The company holds ISO 9001:2015 certification. Our quality policy is "to provide products that satisfy customers in a timely manner," ensuring safe, high-quality products and accurate information, followed by regular customer satisfaction surveys.

2. Responsibility to Shareholders:
The company periodically announces its financial status on public websites. Any material information is promptly disclosed on the Market Observation Post System (MOPS), and small investor briefings are held regularly.

3. Responsibility to Employees:
(1) Established an Employee Welfare Committee to handle activities and provide subsidies for weddings, funerals, and childbirth.
(2) To increase efficiency and share business results, we have performance bonus systems and company articles that mandate employee profit-sharing in surplus years.
(3) Employees enjoy labor and health insurance, retirement pensions, and free group life, accident, medical, and cancer insurance for themselves and their families.
(4) Formulated training procedures including orientation, on-the-job training, and management training. We encourage external training and use monthly meetings to share business philosophies and build team consensus.
(5) To ensure safety, we provide a compliant work environment and hold regular health and safety seminars, fire drills, and emergency evacuation practices.

4. Responsibility to Stakeholders:
(1) Hiring persons with disabilities, receiving awards for these efforts.
(2) Periodically donating computers to elementary schools in remote mountainous areas.
(3) Obtained ISO 14001 certification, focusing on eco-friendly and pollution-free products.

5. Liability insurance is purchased for directors and supervisors.

Community Participation
Harvatek has long been invested in community development, caring for vulnerable families and the elderly in rural areas, promoting talent activities for female elders, and stabilizing their diets. We also create local youth employment opportunities to ensure sustainable development in a friendly community.
