Harvatek Corp. (“Harvatek”) announces that the China patent, Patent No. 200780015100.X, in title of “apparatus and method for mounting electronic components” owned by Huizhou Cree Semiconductor Lighting Co., Ltd. has been invalidated by Harvatek. The invalidation request was filed through Beijing Leader Patent & Trademark Firm on Dec. 22, 2014, and State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China officially declared the invalidation of all claims in the patent on July 26, 2015.
Harvatek was ever accused of infringing Cree’s six US patents related to LED package in September last year. The invalidation of all the US patents has claimed in the US court. One of those patents, US8,362,605, is a counterpart of the China patent 200780015100.X. Harvatek has confidence that the official declaration in China reveals invalidation of the US counterpart.
Harvatek respects the intellectual property rights of others, and never intends to infringe patents. Harvatek refused to surrender itself to the patent dispute launched by Cree in consideration of shareholders’ and customers’ interests. The success of the invalidation action in China reflects that Harvatek has strong ability to deal with transnational patent disputes.
