Harvatek announced to accuse Cree of involving patent infringement in the United States

2014/12/8
Dec.05, 2014. Today Harvatek Corp. (“Harvatek”) announced to entrust Devlin Law Firm LLC representing it to accuse Cree, Inc. (“Cree”), Cree Hong Kong Limited and Cree Shanghai Opto Development Limited of involving patent infringement in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and prohibit Cree and its affiliates from infringing Harvatek's U.S. LED patents.

Harvatek was ever accused of infringing Cree's six US patents in United States on Sep.15, 2014. Both parties have ever agreed to suspend the proceedings for negotiations but the failure of these negotiations led to the countersuit against Cree and its affiliates.

Harvatek declared to respect intellectual property rights, including Cree's patent strength. Harvatek will however fight out against any patent disputes for its shareholders and clients if any patentee try to bash Harvatek. Harvatek has a long-term investment in building patent portfolios in the past. Owing to the friendly relations between both sides, Harvatek did not intend to launch any patent war. Yet Harvatek does not yield to any unreasonable harassment.

Harvatek expressed that sales revenues and patent quantities are not the only factors to reflect patent strength. Harvatek is going to initiate a series of actions to demonstrate its patent capability in the coming future.
